Connecting Windows 10 to Eduroam Wireless Network


To connect your Windows 10 computer to eduroam:

  1. Download the Windows 10 Eduroam installer
  2. Run the installer
  3. When prompted, provide your username followed by and your password
  4. Click wireless icon in the taskbar and select eduroam
  5. Click Connect

You will connect to eduroam and can browse the web.

Manual Connection

To connect Windows 10 to Eduroam manually, use the instructions below.

  1. Right-click on the wireless icon in the bottom right of the desktop and select “Open Network and Sharing Centre”.
  2. Select “Setup a new connection or network”.
  3. Select “Manually connect to a wireless network” and click ‘Next’.
  4. Enter the following details:Network name: eduroam
    Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
    Encryption type: AES
  1. Click ‘Next’.
  2. Click ‘Change connection settings’.
  3. Select the ‘Security tab’.
  4. Click ‘Settings’.
  5. Tick the box labelled ‘Connect to these servers’ and type ‘’ in the box below.
  6. In the ‘Trusted Root Certification Authorities:’ window tick the box labelled “AddTrust External CA Root”.
  7. Click ‘OK’.
  8. Click ‘Advanced Settings’.
  9. Tick the box labelled ‘Specify authentication mode’ and select ‘User authentication’ from the drop down menu.
  10. Click ‘OK’, ‘OK’ again and ‘Close’

You are now ready to connect.

  1. Click on the wireless signal icon in the bottom right of the desktop.
  2. Select ‘eduroam’ and press ‘Connect’.
  3. When asked enter your College username with “” appended and your College password.
  4. Click ‘OK’.

You should now be connected to the eduroam wireless network.
